Kevin Patrick McCormack (58), member of Ancient Order of Hibernian Division 8, Selden, went to his eternal reward on October 8, 2023. An award-winning piper with the Roisin Dubh, Iona College and Inis Fada Gaelic Pipe Bands before helping to form Siol na hEireann Irish Pipe Band as a member/instructor. He served as an officer of Division 8, President of the Middle Country Hibernian Corporation and was chosen as the Division’s 2014 Hibernian of the Year. His generous sharing of his piping talents on many events from weddings to wakes endeared him to all who knew him. He is survived by his father Mike McCormack and brother Sean. Beannacht Dé Lena Anam Uasal.
Visitation is at Moloney’s Lake Funeral Home (132 Ronkonkoma Ave, Ronkonkoma, NY) on Thursday 10/19, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (Hibernian Prayer Service 7:30pm), and on Friday 10/20, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm, and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
Funeral Mass is at St. Margaret Of Scotland (81 College Road, Selden, NY) on Saturday 10/21, 10:00 am, with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a Tax Deductible memorial donation may be made to the Siol na h’Eireann Pipe Band, P.O. Box 308, Selden, NY 11784 in Kevin’s name.
