To the Editor:
I am in full agreement with Hilary Beirne’s Opinion article, A Lost Opportunity for Ireland. Every Irish family has relatives living abroad, and they are all members of our diaspora. Ireland’s diaspora has played an important role throughout our country’s history, and as such they should be more included as diasporas are in other countries as Beirne pointed out. This would benefit us by bringing more political diversity, new social perspectives, and obvious economic benefit for the tourism industry.
